2022 National Election at the Philippines

The 2022 Philippine general election will take place on May 9, 2022, for executive and legislative branches of the government – national, provincial, and local, except for the barangay officials.

The presidential and vice presidential elections are held every six years. Election Days in which the president and vice president and barangay officials are not elected are called “midterm elections”; Election Days in which the president and vice president are elected are called “presidential elections”.

Why might it be important for citizens to vote?

Another responsibility of citizens is voting. The law does not require citizens to vote, but voting is a very important part of any democracy. By voting, citizens are participating in the democratic process. Citizens vote for leaders to represent them and their ideas, and the leaders support the citizens’ interests.

-What are the roles of the people in the national election?

-What are the posible challenges that the candidates in national elections can be faced?

What would you advise voters in the coming elections?

Why we should cast our votes during Elections?

Why do we need to know the Character of the candidates?

Reminders for Voters:

Vote can change our direction

Now, more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the community legislature. If our next centennial does not find us a great community… it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture and the morality of the community do not aid in controlling the political forces.” Voting is one key way to help turn this community around. Another is for families and individuals to change their personal economies. Being a citizen of the world’s biggest democracy it is not only our right but a responsibility to elect the right set of people to administer the functioning of the community.
